Sponsorship strengthens visibility software developer and represents connection
Delft, 22 August 2023 – The 2023 European Road Cycling Championships are powered by Exact. The developer of business software for SMEs is presenting partner of this European event, which is taking place in Drenthe this year. Exact's sponsorship is all about connection and is a unique opportunity to strengthen the Exact brand and increase brand awareness.
"Cycling is passion. A sport that involves drive, perseverance, individual trials of strength and team spirit", Exact's Chief Executive Officer Paul Ramakers says. "It's also a human-centred sport that is constantly developing based on the available technology and data. These characteristics are a perfect fit for Exact and the 675,000 businesses we gear up with our business software. This makes the European Road Cycling Championships the perfect opportunity to strengthen the Exact brand and increase our brand awareness."

Cycling connects

Thijs Rondhuis, CEO of Courage Events and organiser of the 2023 European Road Cycling Championships, is pleased to have found a presenting partner in Exact: "We are extremely proud of our collaboration with Exact, which has helped to make this high-profile event possible. Like cycling itself, the European Road Cycling Championships are all about connections: between young and old, amateurs and professionals, athletes and supporters, the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. It also underlines our image as a cycling nation.”

Exact highlight: 63 metres and a 15% gradient

Exact will boost its visibility with its sponsorship of this top-level European road cycling event. First of all to the general public, and secondly to Exact’s business relations, which will have the opportunity to attend the sporting event. The literal highlight of the sponsorship is the branding around the "Dak van Drenthe", which translates literally as Drenthe's Roof, an embankment that is a new part of the Col du Vam and is 63 metres high with a gradient of 15%. Paul continues: "The Col du Vam is the European Road Cycling Championships' main attraction. It is a hill on an old landfill site that is now covered in soil and grass and has been given a uniquely second life as a cycling course. It is the epitome of circularity, something Exact wholeheartedly embraces."

Internationally televised live races

The European Road Cycling Championships have been organised annually since 1995 and the 2023 edition will take place in Drenthe. The varied and fascinating programme includes the individual time trials on 20 September, the mixed team relays on 21 September and the men's and women's road races on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. Consequently, the event is widely promoted internationally with 15 hours of airtime on television channels like NOS, VRT and Eurosport, as well as on RAI Italy and L'Équipe in France.
