As a Software Team Lead, you will be responsible for the success, growth, and delivery outcomes of a Scrum development team. This role combines people's management, technical leadership, and delivery of ownership. You will coach and develop engineers, foster a high-performing engineering culture, and ensure your team consistently delivers high-quality software solutions.
This role is suited for experienced engineering leaders who have proven experience in people management, software delivery and technical leadership within Agile software development teams.
Lead and Grow High-Performing Teams
- Lead multiple multidisciplinary software engineering teams.
- Conduct performance reviews, career development discussions and regular one-on-ones.
- Coach, mentor and develop engineers, and emerging leaders.
- Play an active role in attracting, hiring, onboarding and developing engineering talent.
- Foster a culture in adherence to company core values.
Strengthen Engineering Excellence
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across teams.
- Promote software engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
- Challenge technical decisions constructively through engineering discussions and trade-off analysis.
- Support architecture discussions and long-term technology strategy.
Drive Delivery Excellence
- Own the outcome.
- Partner closely with Product Management and stakeholders for delivery commitments
- Remove delivery roadblocks early by proactively managing risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure teams maintain a healthy balance between feature delivery, quality, and technical debt.
Build Organizational Capability
- Continuously improve team effectiveness, engineering processes and ways of working.
- Help scale engineering capability within the Melaka office.
- Build an environment where engineers can grow professionally and do their best work.
People Management
- Minimum 1 years of direct people management experience leading software engineering teams.
- Proven experience managing, coaching and developing software engineering teams.
- Experience conducting performance reviews, career development discussions, regular one-on-ones and providing constructive feedback.
- Experience managing performance improvement initiatives and supporting employee growth and development.
- Demonstrated ability to balance people's leadership, delivery commitments and technical excellence.
Technical Foundation
- Strong software engineering background with experience building and delivering modern web applications.
- Experience within the Microsoft technology ecosystem (.NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Azure) is highly desirable.
- Candidates from other enterprise technology stacks are also encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, technical leadership capabilities, and modern software engineering practices
- Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code principles and maintainable software development.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar development lifecycle tooling.
- Ability to effectively engage in technical discussions involving architecture, software design, engineering trade-offs, cloud technologies, and modern software delivery practices.
Methodologies
