Exact streamlines project administration at SCP - The Netherlands Institute for Social Research

Delft, 8 April 2014 - The Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP) has opted for Exact to streamline its project administration. Exact partner VCD is going to implement the software, which around 100 people are going to be using.

Process optimization as point of departure

Analyses showed that the existing system used by Eno was becoming too maintenance intensive, which prompted Eno to go in search of a new solution to handle its most important administrative processes. Eno set up a selection procedure, which involved several suppliers including Exact partner VCD, the developer of Cloudias Healthcore. Eno ultimately decided to opt for Cloudias, which consists of a comprehensive set of 'best of breed' ICT solutions, including Exact Synergy. In an earlier phase, Eno had already opted for Exact financials. As Eno uses both Exact Financials and Exact Synergy, the two systems can be put to optimum use for the health insurer.

Ready for the future

Thanks to Exact Synergy, SCP now has a future-oriented solution for project administration at its disposal. SCP decided to opt for Exact Synergy in consultation with partner VCD. The software fully integrates with Exact Globe, which is currently already being used within the organisation, including in combination with other business applications such as Microsoft Office, to the full satisfaction of SCP.

Increased efficiency and hour registration via a smartphone

Locating a variety of processes in one centralized automated environment makes it possible to avoid a large number of duplicated actions, and this instantly improves efficiency. Thanks to the new Exact software, the organisation once again has full insight into the status of ongoing projects.

In the second phase, documents are digitized, so that they can be stored and managed centrally per project in Exact Synergy. Moreover, employees will start to register their hours using the Exact app on their smartphone. This will not only simplify the hour registration but will also make it considerably easier to check accuracy.

As Jan de Kievit of SCP explains, “Just like many other organisations, the system we had was largely decentralised and outdated. We wanted to introduce a more centralized system that would allow us to increase the efficiency of our project administration and provide us with a greater insight into the status of projects. We feel that we have achieved this objective by opting for the combination of Exact Synergy and Exact Globe.”

Gülnur Nielen, Account Manager at VCD Business Solutions, adds, “When we were asked to perform a feasibility study, it soon became clear that Exact offered a suitable solution for the challenges faced by SCP. We are convinced that, by opting for Exact Synergy, they have made an excellent and future-proof choice.”

As Arnoud de Weijer, Sales Director at Exact, explains, “It is absolutely essential for any organisation to have a properly functioning back office. That applies to SCP, too. Using Exact Synergy gives SCP a better insight into its projects and enables it to identify and tackle problems at an earlier stage. In the past, different versions of documents used to be stored right across the network. Such a situation was simply asking for problems. Thanks to the use of Exact this has now become a thing of the past.”
