Exact stimulates entrepreneurial spirit in less developed parts of society

Exact to raise funds for Branson School of Entrepreneurship

Today, as it marks 25^th anniversary, Exact is kicking off an ambitious initiative to boost entrepreneurial spirit and give something back to the entrepreneurial world. The bar is high: the objective is to mobilize € 1 million in 2010 together with partners within Exact’s ecosystem. The money will be used to stimulate entrepreneurship in less developed parts of society. As a first initiative Exact will support the Branson School of Entrepreneurship, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, an initiative of Virgin Unite, the non-profit organization of Branson’s Virgin Group.

“For 25 years we have been serving entrepreneurial businesses successfully and profitably with our solutions. With this initiative we want to give something back and serve entrepreneurs of the future. We will support projects that stimulate entrepreneurship where this is not possible without help, but at the same time focus on helping people to help themselves,” says Rajesh Patel, CEO of Exact.

As a first project, Exact has chosen to raise funds for the Branson School of Entrepeneurship, which provides the right infrastructure to support Exact’s goal: boost entrepreneurialism. The school creates opportunities that help student entrepreneurs follow their dreams of owning and managing successful businesses. With the right support and encouragement, the school helps future entrepreneurs make a huge difference to not only themselves, but also to their families, communities and ultimately to their whole country.

The idea was born when Rajesh Patel and Richard Branson met in January of this year, when Patel was elected “Entrepeneur of the Year 2008" at the Big Improvement Day. Richard Branson in reaction to this initiative: “It is great that Raj and his team are encouraging entrepreneurship both in the Netherlands and in South Africa. I can assure everyone who is helping fundraise for the Branson School of Entrepreneurship that your donations will be put to good use and will make a huge difference to young people. Thank you.”

With this not-for-profit project Exact is keen to contribute to local economies where needed, by providing good ideas with the opportunity to become reality. “We see it as part of our responsibility to give some back and stimulate a new generation of entrepreneurship.
