Some facts about our company
In 1984, a few students in a garage with an entrepreneurial spirit worked together to achieve an ambitious goal: to serve the entrepreneurial world with information technology. From the introduction of the pc through the constantly emerging technologies to handheld devices and perpetual connectivity in the cloud, we continue to be entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs.
We have been listed on the NYSE Euronext Amsterdam since June 1999. After a quarter of a century of being Exact, our DNA and entrepreneurial spirit still reflect those late nights in a garage. Today we are a global solution provider serving approximately 100,000 customers.
The early years of the economic boom, the mass production of the pc and floppy disks became the new paper and one megabyte seemed impossible to fill. It was when we were IT-pioneers providing the solutions to move financial books from the desk to the desktop.
When people were using a pc every day, at work and at home, they happily welcomed Windows to make work and life easier. It’s when we, clearly being the market leader in the Netherlands, stepped beyond the local playing field and into the international business arena. It’s also when our revenue reached €100 million.
On the brink of a new millennium, the world was becoming a global village joined by increased connectivity paving the way for all things web with every moment captured in megapixels. We went public and enlarged our international footprint with acquisitions throughout Europe and in the US. This is also when we launched Exact Synergy.
Web 2.0 becomes the standard and we now have satellite navigation in our cars and a gigaworld in our pockets to send witty status updates with bits of text. We launched Exact Online and our revenue passed the €250 million mark. We rediscovered our corporate identity and refreshed our brand.
